While the Interop conference in recent years has become about more than just the network, the network remains at the center of the show.
The Interop network represents the core original promise of the Interop conference, the promise of multiple networking vendors and technologies working together to prove that network interoperability works.
In a video tour guided by Jeff Enters, chief infrastructure architect at HP, the breadth and depth of the Interop network, known as InteropNet, is revealed. The network includes a dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 network addressing system. InteropNet also benefits from the Shortest Path Bridging Standard (SPB).
InteropNET itself is first assembled in California to make sure everything works, then shipped to Las Vegas, where the network is reassembled for the show.
“We have a lot of fun with it making it all work,” Enters said.
