Leveraging Virtualization for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

According to an InformationWeek survey of 681 technology professionals, 17 percent have no business continuity/disaster recovery plan and 20 percent are currently working on one. Cost and complexity were seen as the two biggest prohibitors. Virtualization is considered a key technology in overcoming both those obstacles.

In addition to cutting energy costs and server sprawl, vitualization can be leveraged to get a downed server back up and running in minutes rather than hours.
