NYSE Euronext Rings Bell on New Jersey Data Center

NYSE Euronext began trading stocks on its 400,000-square-foot Mahwah, N.J. data center this week. The facility is one of two new NYSE data centers. The second, which has not yet launched, is located in Basildon UK.

The stocks of 19 companies are now being traded out of the New Jersey facility. Eventually, all NYSE stocks and NYSE Amex exchanges will be migrated to the new data center, says DatacenterDynamics. This is expected to be complete by the end of August. The remainder of NYSE-operated exchanges will be migrated by early 2011.

The facility features 100,000 square feet of co-location space. Three of five 20,000-square-foot modules were included in the initial launch. The other two will be used for future buildout.
