Networking vendor PLUMgrid releases the latest version of its ONS (OpenStack Networking Suite) platform this week. Surprisingly, OpenStack isn’t the only focus for ONS 5.0. PLUMgrid, like much of the IT industry today, is also now embracing Docker containeers.
ONS 5.0 is the first major update for PLUMgrid’s flagship platform since ONS 4.0 was announced in October 2015. PLUMgrid has been in the market with its technology since 2013 and made OpenStack the core focus in June 2014.
In a podcast interview with Enterprise Networking Planet, Pere Monclus, founder and CTO of PLUMgrid, details what’s new in the ONS 5.0 release, which provides new support for IPv6 and containers as well as Cisco’s Nexus switches.
