Sprint plans to begin offering cloud services before the end of the year. Expected in the fourth quarter, Sprint’s “hosted collaboration services” will cater to SMBs and large corporations. The carrier’s offerings will also include network infrastructure-as-a-service via an on-demand model, Internet hosting, as well as software and security applications, InfoWorld reports.
Unlike similar services from both AT&T and Verizon, Sprint will leverage its own data center to offer its services. The company will initially provide public cloud offerings, but could eventually tender hybrid cloud environments, according to CRN.
