Verizon Advancing Cloud Services through Data Center Investment

Verizon Business announced plans to invest $16.8 billion on expansion and upgrades to its data centers around the globe as a means to enhance its cloud offerings to enterprises. Within the next year, the company expects to expand its Computing as a Service offering into data centers in Canberra, Australia; London and San Jose, Calif., Information Management reports.

Data Centers serving U.S. government customers are planned to come online early next year in Culpepper, Va., and Miami. Verizon Business also plans to add more than 5,500 server cabinets for enterprise clients to its data centers in Belgium, Dublin, Canberra, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Paris and throughout the United States, says WHIR.
