Dubbed the SuperMUC, the world's potentially most powerful supercomputer will be run by the academy's Leibniz Supercomputing Centre and will be available for the European research community, says Fudzilla. SuperMUC will also use IBM's new Aquasar cooling technology, PCWorld reports. The system uses hot water to cool the processors, which IBM claims can cut cooling electricity by 40 percent. IBM hopes to have the system online by 2012.
