IBM Power7 Servers Achieve Energy Start Status
IBM's new Power7 systems first in class to meet Energy Star requirements.

IBM announced that its new Power7 750 Express and Power 755 models are the first four-processor systems to qualify for Energy Star status, InformationWeek reports. The servers debuted in February and target the enterprise and mid-market customers.

The 750 Express and Power 755 servers are based on IBM's Power7 processor, which allow for four times the cores and eight times the threads of its predecessor. According to Express Computer, existing Power6 customers can easily migrate to Power7 using a feature called Live LPAR Mobility.
