VMware has used its latest annual conference to drive the notion of cloud computing and IT-as-a-service, says V3.co.uk. VMware vice president and general manager of virtualization and cloud platforms Raghu Raghuram said:
Enterprises are embracing a new model of infrastructure to deliver IT as a Service through hybrid cloud computing.
The firm officially launched six new vCloud services at the VMworld conference, ZDNet reports. They are VMware Cloud Director and the vShield security products portfolio, including VMware vShield Edge, VMware vShield App and VMware vShield Endpoint. The company also unveiled vCloud Datacenter Services and vCloud Consulting Services.
