Brocade was among the first networking vendors to embrace 40GbE technology on its switches, including the ICX 6610 campus switch. As networks continue to get larger, there is also a need for easier management of the switching fabric, which is where Brocade’s multi-chassis trunking (MCT) technology comes into play.
MCT provides a more efficient way to link a pair of switches together. Linking multiple switches together is also part of Brocade’s VDX data center switching family. On the VDX, Brocade has something called the virtual cluster switching (VCS) that enables administrators to manage a network of VDX switches as one logical switch.
