Huawei is trying hard to expand its market presence and share in the U.S. The Chinese IT vendor made a series of new services and support announcements at the Interop conference last week as part of that effort.
In a video interview with Enterprise Networking Planet, top executives from Huawei detailed the company’s latest networking moves.
Among the announcements is the Huawei Certified Service Partner Program, which brings 24/7 support to U.S customers. Patrick Zhang, president, Marketing and Solutions Department, Enterprise Business Group at Huawei Technologies, explained that his company is partnering with service provider Essintial to deliver the front-line support.

Technologies, explained that there are five key trends that are driving IT deployments today. Those trends include: cloud computing, mobility, social media, Big Data and the Internet of Everything.
For Liu, Software Defined Networking (SDN) is just a solution that can help solve the problems that the big five IT trends may face. A big challenge for Huawei in the U.S is to continue to expand its channel partner base.
Another challenge facing Huawei is the scrutiny of the U.S government. In 2012, the US. government took the unprecedented move of specifically barring Huawei from U.S government networks.
“It’s a challenge but we will prove ourselves with our good solutions,” Zhang said. “We will bring our differentiated technology and solutions and prove ourselves with some good references.”
