Every so often, a Win2K machine starts to log on to a Win2K server like a fish through molasses. The boot-up time can take upwards of 15 minutes. What to do?
Go into Active Directory’s management console and remove the troubled machine’s listing. Reboot the machine and let it re-initialize within AD, and see if that doesn’t fix the problem.
Of course, be sure that you’re using the latest Service Pack, drivers, and patches; and that the DNS is properly configured for the domain.
