Computer Associates has released version 3.0 of Unicenter Service Level Management (Unicenter SLM). The program works by collecting and correlating relevant data from both internal and external resources. In addition to tracking service levels across a multi-organizational infrastructure, Unicenter SLM 3.0 provides reporting functions that enable both IT and business managers to quickly assess the performance of the entire infrastructure, including critical applications, databases and networks.
CA asserts that this new release further advances service level management through extensive service data collection including service experience information supplied by independent monitoring organizations. It provides out-of-the-box web-based service level analysis and reporting for disparate IT resources including network infrastructure devices, and SAP R/3, Windows 2000 and Microsoft Exchange services. Users can also customize the metrics to be monitored.
Unicenter SLM 3.0 provides new data import Wizards to simplify the integration of data from diverse sources — even in highly complex, heterogeneous environments — to streamline implementation. It also includes service analysis tools and charts that aid capacity trending and service comparison between infrastructure resources and externally provisioned services; providing a unique insight into service bottlenecks and trends.
Unicenter SLM 3.0 is available as both a standalone solution and an add-on for existing Unicenter implementations. In addition, Unicenter SLM 3.0 works with iCan Assure to provide end-to-end service level management for both infrastructure and end-user experience.
