eSecurity Planet reports that while virus activity tapered off during October, spam averaged between 1 million and 1.5 million instances a day for most of the month. The U.S. was the number one generator of new spam messages, followed by Russia, India, the UK and Brazil.
The report is in contrast to the recent findings of Google and Symantec. Both companies found decreases in spam levels.
