Blade Pitches Unified Fabric Architecture Roadmap

Blade Network Technologies has announced a roadmap for its Unified Fabric Architecture (UFA) that supports virtualized servers in a data center on a virtualized network. According to a news report on eWeek, the company’s UFA includes BLADEOS, a data center fabric OS, with VM-ready
virtualization extensions.


“‘Enterprise data centers worldwide are actively upgrading to 10-Gigabit Ethernet and implementing I/O
virtualization for servers and storage but are concerned about preserving their existing IT investments,’ said Philip Dawson, vice president of analyst firm Gartner. ‘A unified IP network fabric can serve to ensure that the data center network can deliver maximum business value and flexibility.'”
