As reported on Market Watch, Cisco (CSCO) announced that the Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network (ORION) has chosen the Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers for its new Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network (IP NGN) upgrade. The upgrades are expected to lower operating costs, advance the pace of research and support new technologies and applications. In addition, these improvements will more greatly support advanced applications, distance learning, data mining, global collaboration and distributed computing.
