Internet pioneer Dr Vint Cerf says there has been enough lobbying and the time has come to make the switch to IPv6. On The Australian Cerf warns of big problems coming for machines not properly structured, or gateways and firewalls that don’t work. In addition, the Google guru says more attention should be paid to strong authentication for people using the internet.
“‘I’d like to see multi-lateral legal agreements on the meaning of digital signatures for online transactions,’ he said. ‘Because if we want to do e-commerce on a global scale, we must have rock-solid frameworks for dealing with breaches of contract, and enforcement arrangements.'”
