Fortinet has announced that the company’s new multi-threat UTM appliances offer enterprise customers more advanced firewall and intrusion prevention systems along with granular application-based security. As reported on Channel Web, one of Fortinet’s new releases, the FortiGate 3950B, targets complex enterprise environments by offering 120 Gbps of low-latency firewall inspection performance designed for high-speed data centers and extensive corporate network perimeters.
“In addition, the Sunnyvale-based company is launching FortiGate-3951B appliance, which includes internal storage and can scale up to 100 Gbps of firewall performance.
“Executives said that the releases offer more than standard firewalls in light of their enhanced content-aware security functions aimed at Web application threats.
“Altogether, both FortiGate appliances set themselves apart by featuring a modular form factor while integrating a broad array of network and content security services, including threat identification, prevention and policy enforcement capabilities, executives said.”
