A handheld gigabit Ethernet tester for front-line field workers to analyze network quality and rapidly locate faults has been introduced by GAO Tek Inc. In a press release presented on PR Log, GAO Tek claims the tester performs network tests, data packet capture, traffic generation, cable tests and BER testing for network layer 1, 2 and 3. This Ethernet tester, model XG5050 tests terminal mode, frame length, frame type, used ratio status and optical power, and also conducts RFC-2544 benchmark tests including throughput, frame loss rate, latency and back-to-back testing.
