Pentagon Contractor Suffers Network Security Intrusion

Lockheed, maker of F-22 and F-35 fighter planes and other critical weapons systems is experiencing a major disruption to its computer systems that could be related to a problem with network security. As reported by Reuters, Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N), the Pentagon’s No. 1 supplier, detected an intrusion to the network that involved the use of SecurID tokens that employees use to access Lockheed’s internal network from outside its firewall.

“’We have policies and procedures in place to mitigate the cyber threats to our business, and we remain confident in the integrity of our robust, multilayered information systems security,’ said spokesman Jeffery Adams.”
