WatchGuard Technologies unveiled WatchGuard Application Control, a new take on what constitutes a firewall. As reported on IT Web, WatchGuard Application Control enables the firewall to identify and control more than 1 500 applications. It protects against the next generation of threats that leverage popular applications such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and hundreds more and now businesses can rein in how individual employees use such applications, directly from the corporate firewall.
