Adobe Patches Zero-Day Flash Flaw

As promised, Adobe has released a patch for a critical security flaw in its Flash Player, reports The Mac Observer. As the article explains:

attackers are currently embedding a maliciously crafted SWF file in Excel spreadsheet documents delivered as email attachments. Once the Excel document is opened, attackers can potentially take control of the victim’s system.

Google beat Adobe to the punch, issuing a patch for the zero-day vulnerability for its Chrome browser last week, notes Computerworld.

According to eSecurity Planet, Adobe has also issued an update for its Reader and Acrobat platforms to deal with a critical flaw in the authplay.dll component.
