Anonymous Targets Turkish Government Again

Anonymous has launched another attack against the Turkish government in protest against the country’s new Internet filtering rules. According to, the hacking group claims to have taken down 74 websites and released data said to be harvested from more than 100 Turkish government domains. Computerworld notes that the websites included medical-related sites, but did not appear to include websites of key government ministries.

Law enforcement has been putting increasing pressure on the hacking group. Following a successful DDoS attack against the Turkish government, last month Turkey detained 32 individuals associated with Anonymous. Spain also has arrested three suspected Anonymous hackers. In addition, Italian police arrested three Anonymous hackers, including a man believed to be the country’s Anonymous leader.
