Computerworld reports that Dmitry Naskovetz of Belarus has pleaded guilty to running an identity theft website known as CallService.biz.
The site, which was designed to avoid the anti-fraud measures used by many banks, allegedly helped more than 2,000 identity thieves commit fraud. Prosecutors say the company advertised its services on a carding website known as CardingWorld.cc, where pilfered bank card information was bought and sold.
Naskovetz is facing up to 38 years in prison on wire and credit card fraud charges. Sentencing is set for May 26.
