V3.co.uk reports that Cisco’s 2010 Midyear Security Report predicts that spam attacks will rise by a staggering 30 percent in 2010 compared with 2009. According to the report, most spam comes from the U.S., followed by India, Brazil, Russia and South Korea.
Cisco also found that the growth of social networking is impacting organizations’ abilities to maintain effective network security. Says Cisco chief security officer John Stewart:
The growing demographic of mobile working and use of tools like Facebook has meant that the notion of a border at work has dissolved, and connection is now expected regardless of location.
