Following reports that the Federal Trade Commission has warned nearly 100 organizations that they should review their security practices, the agency has now asked the companies to submit extensive information on their data-collection, usage and protection practices, reports Computerworld.
Among the information being requested is the the types of personal information being collected and the purpose for which it is being used, as well as name, location and operating system of every computer that is used to collect and store personal information. The FTC wants information dating back to 2007.
