Microsoft Update Disables AutoRun

Microsoft is offering an optional update that disables the AutoRun feature in Windows XP and Vista, reports Computerworld. The feature has been exploited by the notorious Conficker and Stuxnet worms in order to infect millions of PCs.

The update was released in conjunction with February’s Patch Tuesday. PCMag.com notes that the release is not labeled as a security update, but is tagged as “important.”
