Opera Issues Security Update for Apple, Windows

Opera has released an update to address security vulnerabilities in both the Mac and Windows versions of the browser, V3.co.uk reports.

According to the company, the 10.53 update fixes a vulnerability that Opera classifies as “extremely severe.” The vulnerability, which is in a script that handles document files, could allow an attacker to modify a file to make multiple calls to the vulnerable component, causing an application crash. A targeted system would then be vulnerable to remote code execution.

This update comes just two months after Opera released Opera 10.51 to fix two security vulnerabilities that involve the ability of hackers to execute code or see private information on users’ PCs.
