UK E-Mail Hack Work of a National Government?

According to the UK government’s former chief scientist, Sir David King, the hacking of climate research e-mails from the UK’s Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia may have been planned either by a government agency or by lobbyists hoping to derail the Copenhagen Summit, reports V3.co.uk.

King says the sophistication of the attack means that it was likely carried out by a national government. He isn’t sure what government could be responsible. It could be the Russian intelligence agency, he says, because the e-mails were posted to a Russian server.
