LAS VEGAS. The original idea behind the Interop conference was all about demonstrating interoperability. At the Ethernet Alliance booth on the 2014 Interop convention floor here, Ethernet interoperability was demonstrated for all to see.
In a video interview, the Ethernet Alliance details how the converged Ethernet connection setup works. The demo shows how multiple Ethernet standards, including 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 40 GbE and Power over Ethernet (PoE), all work together seamlessly across multiple vendors.
“It’s real technology for real deployment,” John D’Ambrosia, chair of the Ethernet Alliance, said. “It’s here, it exists, and what we’re showing is you can plug it all together and guess what – it actually works, the flashing lights are flashing.”
