“BT has expanded its BT Onevoice converged voice platform, in a bid to drive the adoption of communications applications to the desktop in large businesses. The company has launched SIP trunking in a number of countries, which it claims will deliver a migration path to unified communications,” writes ComputerWeekly.com’s Cliff Saran.
“SIP trunking provides connectivity between domestic country voice services and BT’s Onevoice global VPN to help customers deploy converged applications. It enables a business to use its existing PBX with voice over IP (VoIP) to enable staff to make and receive calls via the public switched telephony network (PSTN), over the corporate IP network,” Saran writes.
