“The Unified Communications (UC) wars are heating up. Cisco is tossing their hat in the ring with a new upcoming offering and they offered a preview of the system, giving us all a taste of what’s to come. Cisco promised it would release more details at the Enterprise 2.0 conference,” writes Fierce VoIP’s Mike Dolan.
” The new Cisco offering is called Quad–a name that doesn’t refer to core speed or the combination for four digital services or anything, rather it’s a reference to everyone’s favorite place to meet up and hang out back in our school days: the college quad. Quad aims to be a secure social network for larger enterprises to network their employees where people can essentially hang out all day to get their work done,” Dolan writes.
