Dialexia, headquartered in Montreal, Canada, is a next generation software and services company that develops and markets a complete suite of IP telephony software and applications. It also provides advanced telephony solutions using Internet Protocols to enterprises, service providers, and telephony resellers.
Founded in 2001 (and surviving a tough industry for nearly a decade) Dialexia has continued to implement the latest technologies to facilitate the convergence of voice and data networks, making the firm one of the true pioneers in the VoIP industry.
The firm has an international market target. Not only focused on North America, Dialexia has customers across Europe, and Central and South America, as well as in the Middle East and Africa. It is still developing its network of resellers and integrators in Europe and Asia and mainly sells its products to small and medium sized businesses (SMBs), telecommunications operators, carriers, and Internet telephony service providers (ITSPs).
Dialexia relies on the knowledge and expertise of its 20 multi-lingual and multi-cultural employees, with the majority of those individuals fulfilling product development and engineering roles. Their accomplishments have received many awards, including a 2006 Best of Show Award from the Internet Telephony Conference and Expo; inclusion in the 2007 Pulver 100 list of privately held companies that have substantial real-world deployments and enjoy significant growth rates; and Best of Show Award from the 2009 IT Expo – West conference, which recognized the firm’s Hosted IP-PBX.
Dialexia has three flagship products. Dial-Office is an Internet alternative to the traditional circuit-switched enterprise phone system, delivering a reliable, low-cost VoIP communications solution. This IP-PBX solution was created for companies willing to manage, cost-effectively, their phone calls in and out the company. The system integrates with the company LAN/WAN, and is suitable for multi-office networks. The application includes features such as: unified voicemail messaging, call presence, auto attendant, call conferencing, call recording, interactive voice response (IVR), and soft phone with receptionist console.
Dial-Gate is a carrier-class VoIP softswitch and billing application that delivers telephony services for residential and enterprise users. This application is designed for operators that want to offer a full range of innovative phone services to customers, while at the same time generating maximum revenues. This Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) application also provides rich, highly customizable communication services, like wholesale, prepaid calling cards, Call-Shop, and SIP trunking features. It provides both Class 4 and Class 5 switching system features, interoperable with SIP-compliant domains, and supports both near-end and far-end Network Address Translation (NAT) systems and firewalls.
Dialexia’s hosted IP PBX solution is named HERO which stands for the Hosted Enterprise Remote Office. This solution was initially sold to operators, but is now targeted at SMBs, large corporations, and governments that are looking to reduce their telecommunications system management responsibilities and overhead. HERO provides even the smallest of businesses with the productivity benefits and cost savings advantages attributed to reduced long distance expenses without incurring the cost of ownership/maintenance of a high-end PBX. HERO has been designed for different geographical markets, and primarily marketed in the American, European and Asian regions.
The HERO system is 100 percent SIP based, and comprised of several integral components: the SIP Proxy, Registrar, and Presence servers, Dial-Manager, and the SIP IVR server. These components allow real-time communication over IP networks and enable features such as seamless voicemail and media services (call park, call relay, presence), and an IVR for voicemail and auto attendant. Also included are the HERO database and an easy-to-use operations, administration, and maintenance (O, A and M) Web interface. Dial Console and Dial Com are two dynamic softphone components that can be used as a substitute for a SIP IP phone or a Foreign Exchange Station (FXS).
Dialexia differentiates itself by offering a hosted PBX solution that can meet the requirements of three distinct customer groups: telecom operators, with interest in the scalable and easily accessible technology; larger enterprises, which can provide advanced calling features to their end users; and government agencies that tout the system’s superior billing capabilities and related expense controls and management.
