Broadvox and Cypress Complete Merger: Last fall, SIP trunking provider Broadvox and Unified Communications-as-a-Service provider Cypress Communications announced that they were merging and it looks like those plans have been completed.

Cisco Recognizes Providea Conferencing: Providea Conferencing, LLC announced today that it has achieved Cisco TelePresence Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status and the Cisco Advanced Unified Communications Specialization. These designations recognize Providea Conferencing as having fulfilled the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy and support Cisco TelePresence and Cisco Unified Communications solutions, nationwide.

IDC: MEA Unified Communications Market Will Double by 2014: According to a new study from International Data Corporation (IDC), the unified communications market in EMEA will be worth just over $8 billion in 2010 and will grow to $16.6 billion by 2014.

O2 and 2e2 Establish Unified Communications Partnership: Mobile operator 02 has announced a joint venture that will give its enterprise customers access to their corporate IT systems on their mobiles. The joint venture with IT services provider 2e2, called ‘O2 Unify,’ aims to provide businesses with the opportunity to outsource their IT and communications requirements to a single provider. The companies claim that this could help firms achieve efficiency savings of up to 30 percent.

Business Mobile VoIP Gateway Revenues to Soar Past $6 Billion in 2015: Voice-over-IP (VoIP), the technology that has revolutionized voice services over the past several years and has brought calling costs down for residential and business customers alike, is spreading from the fixed-line world to the mobile world. Usage is on the rise creating significant opportunity for mobile VoIP gateway equipment suppliers as expenditures in this space are expected to soar beyond the $6 billion mark in 2015, says In-Stat.
