Market Update: Verizon to Field Test Hosted UC

Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency Chooses ShoreTel and Transcend United Technologies for Next Generation Telephony and Contact Center Systems: Transcend United Technologies announced today that the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) will be replacing their current Nortel phone system and Symposium Call Center with a ShoreTel  Unified Communications and Contact Center system.  The work will begin in the next 60 days and will be done by Transcend United.  

Zultys Announces iConnected Mobile Unified Communications Client Release v1.06 for iPhone 4 and Apple iOS4: Zultys Inc., an award-winning IP telephony solution provider for SMB and enterprises, and Quarta Mobile, Inc., an innovator of applications and services based on the Apple platform and devices, announced today the availability of Release Version 1.06  for the iConnected mobile Unified Communications client for the iPhone. iConnected Version 1.06  is compatible with Apple iOS4 and extends Zultys Unified Communications mobility to the iPhone 4.

BT offers IP Telephony Service in U.S.: On the same day Verizon announced it was planning to launch a hosted unified communications and collaboration service based on Cisco’s solution, BT also announced plans to extend its hosted IP telephony service to business customers in the United States. The BT service, initially launched in the UK in December 2009, also allows businesses to bring converged services to the desktop using BT and Cisco’s cloud computing-based technologies.

Cisco, Verizon to Begin Trials of Hosted UC Service:
Verizon Business is about to launch customer field tests of a hosted unified communications service based on a new offering from Cisco Systems.The two-month trials, which will begin in July, will give businesses an alternative to on-premises UC solutions by delivering services via the cloud, according to Verizon Business officials.
