There is good news and bad in CDW’s survey on unified communications, which covered 900 IT and related executives in a number of industries. The good news is that the percentage of organizations with full implementations doubled. The bad news is that even that doubling only brought the total to 16 percent.
Andy Dignan, the company’s senior manager for unified communications, told Unified Communications Edge’s Carl Weinschenk that the increase may have been due to organizations finishing their base deployments – which generally are bread and butter applications such as VoIP or IM – and moving on to more fully implement unified communications products and services.
