Podcast: Verizon’s Unified Communications & Collaboration-as-a-Service

At the Enterprise Connect conference last week in Orlando, Verizon Business introduced Unified Communications & Collaboration-as-a-Service. In this podcast, Roberta Macintosh, Verizon’s director of Global UC&C Product Marketing and Management, tells Unified Communications Edge’s Carl Weinschenk that the service is aimed at enterprises with 1,000 or more employees, though small organizations may eventually be interested.

Among other things, Macintosh says that the offering, like others in the market, relies on a shared server architecture. She believes that the service is unique, however, in a completely dedicated – and therefore highly flexible – application layer.
