SysMaster Corporation, headquartered in Walnut Creek, Calif., was founded in 1998 as a software development company. In 2002, the company successfully introduced its flagship VoiceMaster VoIP Billing product, which set the stage for rapid business expansion. In 2006 SysMaster gained extra momentum with the introduction of its IPTV and wireless networking products. Today SysMaster offers a diversified portfolio of VoIP, IPTV, and wireless products and solutions to address the business needs of traditional and emerging service providers offering real-time voice, video, and data services to their subscribers.

SysMaster markets three switching products that are designed for VoIP applications. PBX Lite, the most recent addition to SysMaster’s growing VoIP line, is an IP PBX ideal for small to medium-size businesses which offers full PBX functionality for a fraction of the cost of traditional PBX systems. The uniSwitch Softswitch is an advanced VoIP softswitch that offers secure and reliable peering between VoIP networks. The megaSwitch Class 5 Server is a feature rich VoIP PBX/Class 5 switch, designed for service providers who want to offer hosted PBX or residential VoIP services.
PBX Lite is a versatile IP PBX designed for small to medium-size businesses, that offers functions typically found on larger switching systems, including voicemail, auto attendant, music-on-hold, automatic call distribution (ADC), conferencing, and follow-me. PBX Lite also offers considerable user flexibility as it supports both local and remote extensions, thus enabling businesses to use a single communication system across multiple offices.
The product utilizes the Internet to bridge calls between local and remote extensions, thus enabling companies to decentralize their organizational structures, while at the same time reducing telecommunications costs for both intra-office an inter-location calls. The system is compatible with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) telephones, and supports an unlimited number of extensions with up to 30 simultaneous calls. Businesses that outgrow the capacity of the base system can either add a second server, or upgrade to one of the higher-capacity SysMaster products.
The SysMaster uniSwitch is a robust and scalable VoIP softswitch that provides secure and reliable peering between VoIP networks. The softswitch serves as a single point of entry into any VoIP infrastructure, offering centralized authentication, flexible routing, and enhanced network security. The softswitch architecture includes support for two protocol stacks—SIP and H.323—plus the addition of a protocol conversion function that can translate signaling messages from SIP to H.323 and vice versa, enabling the system to bridge call between VoIP equipment using incompatible protocols.
In addition to the switching engine, the uniSwitch architecture includes a H.323 gatekeeper and a SIP registrar, which furthers its interoperability with other systems. Perhaps one of the strongest features of the switch is its multiple routing mechanisms, including least cost routing, average success rate (ASR) routing, priority routing, two-stage routing, preferred routing, route fail-over and others. By providing multiple routing options, the VoIP softswitch lets providers select the most profitable and/or highest quality routes for each call and increase call completion rates, revenues, and profits.
The megaSwitch Class 5 Server is a versatile and scalable Class 5 VoIP PBX server designed for implementations in mixed VoIP/public switched telephone network (PSTN) and pure VoIP telecom infrastructures. The product offers both traditional and next generation Class 5 services, including VoIP PBX, auto attendant, interactive voice response (IVR), voicemail, unified messaging, follow-me, and conferencing, plus other core features.
Providers benefit from the modular and scalable architecture of megaSwitch, as it enables them to launch VoIP service offerings with low initial investment while preserving the option to add functionality and/or capacity as their customer base grows. The system supports a wide range of signaling protocols, including SIP, H.323 and the Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) for VoIP networks, plus ISDN, SS7, CAS, and GR303 for PSTN connections. Voice codecs supported include G.711, G.723, G.726 and G.729, plus some mobile wireless systems, such as GSM. The server has a maximum capacity of 240 concurrent calls, and fits standard rack mount enclosures.
