The release of its Virtual Token solution for SSL VPN environments was announced by Sestus in a press release carried on SF Gate. The company claims the Virtual Token product is unique in the VPN authentication market in that it provides “true multi-factor authentication” for SSL VPN systems without the use of X.509 or other certificates, plugins, or other software.

“Virtual Tokens(TM) can be integrated with any SSL VPN that uses LDAP for its credential validation, and integration is unusually simple. No appliance or other hardware must be deployed, the product can be fully integrated within hours, and it resides entirely within the company’s existing web environment. Initially deployed for Cisco, Juniper, and Citrix VPN customers, the solution is compatible with any VPN environment that authenticates its user’s credentials against LDAP.”
