Aspect Communications has announced the availability of version 2.0 of Aspect WinSet VoIP. The service is targeted at customers who want to add contact center capacity using existing infrastructure, and specifically companies that use remote or local Customer Service Representatives (CSRs). The businesses can locate CSRs anywhere, creating virtual contact centers. Aspect WinSet VoIP v2.0 is a software-only product that can be used with industry-standard IP gateways.

Standard features include conferencing, transferring, and holding. Local or remote contact center representatives with IP network access can handle incoming calls from any customer using a VoIP-enabled PC with a simple microphone connected to a LAN. Aspect WinSet VoIP converges incoming PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) voice calls onto a single, managed IP (VPN) network
