Cisco has recently confirmed that its 100G Ethernet router is compliant with the IEEE 802.3ba standard set for high-speed Ethernet servers. As reported on IT Portal Pro, the router is currently undergoing trials at AT&T, and Cisco said we will soon see a commercial release.
“Announcing the ratification of the standard, John D’Ambrosia, the head of IEEE’s 802.3ba Task Force, had said that companies developing products before a standard had been fully approved were taking a huge risk.
“Cisco has, however, insisted that the new 100G Ethernet server currently being tested is fully compliant with the newly announced standard, and will soon see a commercial release.”
