In order to expand its Ethernet network offering, Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) has unveiled a variety of new switches for industrial environments. Works Management reports Cisco’s Industrial Ethernet 3010 series has been designed specifically for factory and process plant automation requirements. The IE 3010 is available with two configurations for standard 19 inch racking with fan-less convection cooling and has features such as support for fibre aggregation (16 SFP ports) and Power over Ethernet configurations.
