SecureWorks has announced an extension to its iSensor intrusion prevention service it calls "SNMP defense technology." According to the company, the new features ensure SNMPv1-enabled devices and operating systems are safe from attacks due to recently-announced vulnerabilities in the protocol that affect hundreds of remotely-manageable devices.

The company says all its iSensor products can prevent SNMP attacks, by blocking all malicious SNMP traffic while allowing valid SNMP traffic to the network. SecureWorks has released a white paper on the new features.
